Budget Backpackers is not far from Edinburgh’s famous castle, so it is ideally placed for sight seeing in the heart of the city’s historic district. That does not mean it is only for culture vultures, however, since some of the best nightlife in Edinburgh is also right outside the hostel’s door. So, whether you are in Edinburgh to soak in the culture or party all night, Budget Backpackers is the place to be. The hostel is a short 5-10 minute walk from the bus and train stations, too, so it is easy to reach when you first arrive in town.
The rooms at Budget Backpackers range from private twins to dorm style rooms with anywhere from four to 12 beds. There are both mixed dorms and female only dorms, and all guests make use of shared bathroom facilities near the bedrooms. There are a whopping 36 shower rooms - so you will never have a long wait for a shower. Each bed has its own reading light and a private locker, and every room is cleaned every day. And the prices? Well, they are not called Budget Backpackers for nothing.
Some of the amenities you will find at Budget Backpackers are:
If you get tired of the constant activity of travel, Budget Backpackers has a “chill out room” where you can lounge on one of the many comfy couches in front of the big plasma TV. It is a great place to hang out with new friends, too. And if you find yourself in need of a midnight snack after dancing the night away, you can whip yourself up something quick in one of the hostel’s four fully equipped kitchens. The hostel is a very social place, so do not be surprised if someone joins you!
Because Budget Backpackers is right in the midst of some of the city’s more lively bars and night clubs, the noise can last well into the night - so if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place to find it! If, on the other hand, you are hoping to join the party and help make some of that noise, Budget Backpackers is ideal
