Globetrotters Tourist Hostel, sometimes also called Globetrotters/The Townhouse, is in a 200 year old building which has been lovingly restored and is now a lively and friendly place for travelers of all kinds to meet. The hostel is a two minute walk from Dublin’s main street, and a short walk from many of the city’s top attractions - including Trinity College and the National Art Gallery, so it is ideally situated for both sight seeing and hanging out in Dublin’s famous pubs. Because, really, you cannot go to Dublin and not hang out in the pubs, right?
The rooms at Globetrotters Tourist Hostel are either dorms (these are called the Globetrotter Rooms) which sleep six, eight, 10 or 12 people - or private rooms (called Townhouse Rooms) which are either singles, doubles or triples. The bunks in the dorms were designed especially for the hostel, and each has its own reading light. The dorm rooms also have their own en suite showers and toilets - something you do not always find in dorms. If you want a little more privacy, the Townhouse Rooms each has cable TV, a telephone and a coffee/tea maker as well as its own private en suite bathroom.
Some of the amenities you will find at Globetrotters Tourist Hostel are:
There are plenty of hostels offering free continental breakfasts these days, and getting a free breakfast with your stay is a great way to save money when you travel. But Globetrotters Tourist Hostel goes one step further - they serve a full Irish breakfast which is free for guests. That means, in addition to the usual cereal and fruit juice, you can also expect bacon, sausage, eggs, hash brown, tomatoes and baked beans - and if that does not keep you going through lunch, nothing will. And if you are looking for some beauty to go with your morning meal, the breakfast room’s windows open onto the Japanese garden next door.
Globetrotters Tourist Hostel (or Globetrotters/The Townhouse, whichever you want to call it) does everything right, making it an excellent choice for your holiday in Dublin.
